Terry eyes management role

England skipper John Terry has admitted that one day he would love to manage his boyhood club Chelsea.

The defender has spent all his career at Stamford Bridge , appearing almost 500 times in the first team after joining the academy as a 14-year-old.

Terry has shown on many occasions that he has no problem giving his all for the club and after being the subject of a number of other clubs both home and abroad, hopes his loyalty will be awarded with a position in the coaching staff once he retires and then eventually the manager's position. Those who follow the Betfair in-play odds will be keeping a close eye on him.

"Obviously my overall aim is to become manager,"Terry said. "And looking at this (Villas-Boas' appointment), as well as Roberto Di Matteo being brought in as coach, it's great for current players as well.

"They are giving chances to people who have been around the club and who know the club inside out as well".

The 30-year-old currently has three years remaining on his contract which will mean at the end of his current contract he'll be at the same age as new Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas. Despite only being in management for one full season, the Portuguese boss has already won his home country's domestic double as well as the Europa League. The online betting indicates he can do the same for Chelsea.

Terry believes that after such a sparkling start to his management career, the 33-year-old will only continue his success at Chelsea and despite his lack of experience will lead the club back to winner's circle after a disappointing season last term.
